Meet The Team
Ameya Meattle
Ameya co-directs the Singapore National Economics Olympiad (SGNEO), the selection test for the International Economics Olympiad. He selects the national team to compete internationally, and coordinates for events.
In his role leading the Junior Economics Society Singapore, he organizes the Singapore Economics Olympiad, the Estimathon and the JESS Speaker Series.
Tanay Suresh
Tanay co-founded, and co-directs, the Singapore National Economics Olympiad (SGNEO), the selection test for the International Economics Olympiad. He expanded SGNEO into the Junior Economics Society it is now.
Tanay founded the Junior Economics Society with Jason Hausenloy. Launching with Singapore's first Fermi Estimathon, he grew the organisation to encompass selecting and training Team Singapore, running the SGNEO competition, and fundraising to continue our programming.
Recently, he has been focused on expanding JESS's reach, working with government agencies to launch the JESSpeaks series in 2023, and working with the National Youth Agency to run the annual Economics Policy Essay contest.
Abhinav Choudhary
Abhinav Choudhary was part of the leadership team behind Singapore’s first SGNEO competition, joining JESS at its early stages. He subsequently helped organize the Estimathon and was involved in directing the JESS Speaker Series. The following year, he served as the Singapore Team Leader for the International Economics Olympiad, during which Singapore achieved first place globally for the first time, and went on to serve as a member of the IEO Board.
Donglin Li
Donglin serves as the current president and co-director of the Singapore National Economics Olympiad (SGNEO), where he oversees the selection of the national team and leads the planning and execution of key events. As Head of the Junior Economics Society Singapore, he is responsible for the economics content of SGNEO and leads major initiatives such as the Singapore Estimathon and the JESS Speaker Series.
In 2025, he was appointed as an international board member of the International Economics Olympiad and served as Singapore’s team leader.
Jason Hausenloy
Jason founded the Singapore National Economics Olympiad (SGNEO), the selection test for the International Economics Olympiad. He is the Team Leader for Team Singapore, and serves on the IEO’s International Board.
With Tanay, he co-founded the Junior Economics Society Singapore, the organisation behind the SGNEO, SG Estimathon and ongoing speaker series. He is also interested in AI policy, having worked for the UN and Singapore Government, and, with Duncan, blogs about econometric modelling at Model Thinking.

Sumedh Lochan Jha
Sumedh is a member of the executive team of the Junior Economics Society Singapore and part of the leading team at the Singapore National Economics Olympiad (SGNEO), contributing to the organisation of national-level competitions. He has a strong interest in economic theory and quantitative economics, particularly calculus-based models and mathematical analysis. Through these competitions, he looks forward to engaging with members of the economics community on quantitative research and the intersections between data science and global policy. He also looks forward to participating in Suzhou for the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) 2026.
Jiyan Zhang
Jiyan serves on the executive committee of the Junior Economics Society Singapore and is part of the leadership team for the Singapore National Economics Olympiad (SGNEO), where he helps organise national-level competitions. He has a strong interest in applying economic theory to finance, particularly in understanding how macroeconomic policies influence financial markets, as well as in learning calculus-based models to draw connections across a wide range of markets. Through these competitions, he looks forward to working with members of the economics community on statistical research and exploring the relationship between global policy frameworks and corporate performance. He also looks forward to representing JESS in Suzhou at the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) 2026.
Ryoga Sanjo
Ryoga Sanjo is a member of the executive committee of the Junior Economics Society Singapore and part of the leadership team for the Singapore National Economics Olympiad (SGNEO), contributing to the organisation of national-level competitions. He has a strong interest in the intersection of economics and finance, particularly in applying economic theory to investment strategies and understanding how global policies shape markets. Through these competitions, he looks forward to collaborating with fellow economics enthusiasts on quantitative research and exploring practical applications of economic concepts.
