Meet The Team

Sumedh Lochan Jha

Sumedh is a member of the executive team of the Junior Economics Society Singapore and part of the leading team at the Singapore National Economics Olympiad (SGNEO), contributing to the organisation of national-level competitions. He has a strong interest in economic theory and quantitative economics, particularly calculus-based models and mathematical analysis. Through these competitions, he looks forward to engaging with members of the economics community on quantitative research and the intersections between data science and global policy. He also looks forward to participating in Suzhou for the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) 2026.

Jiyan Zhang ​​
​
Jiyan serves on the executive committee of the Junior Economics Society Singapore and is part of the leadership team for the Singapore National Economics Olympiad (SGNEO), where he helps organise national-level competitions. He has a strong interest in applying economic theory to finance, particularly in understanding how macroeconomic policies influence financial markets, as well as in learning calculus-based models to draw connections across a wide range of markets. Through these competitions, he looks forward to working with members of the economics community on statistical research and exploring the relationship between global policy frameworks and corporate performance. He also looks forward to representing JESS in Suzhou at the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) 2026.

Ryoga Sanjo​

Ryoga Sanjo is a member of the executive committee of the Junior Economics Society Singapore and part of the leadership team for the Singapore National Economics Olympiad (SGNEO), contributing to the organisation of national-level competitions. He has a strong interest in the intersection of economics and finance, particularly in applying economic theory to investment strategies and understanding how global policies shape markets. Through these competitions, he looks forward to collaborating with fellow economics enthusiasts on quantitative research and exploring practical applications of economic concepts.
